J+20/ Dimanche 3 novembre 2013: en route pour Addo Elephant Park

When I wake up at 5h30, the music is still on. Lina is to come with us till Port Elisabeth because her grandma is sick. But I wonder if she will be able to wake up because she closed the bar. It turns out that she simply did not sleep at all and she falls asleep in minutes after we begin driving. We are going to Addo Elephant Park. After 2 hours drinving in the mountains, the car stops. We ran out of gas and we did not see the warning because of a book lying on it. Eric stays in the car and we girls do hitch hiking till the nearest gas station. We get 10 liters of gas and find a taxi to bring us back. Everybody laughs at us in the taxi. Especially an old woman who keeps saying: "they can't even recognize their car!" 2 hours lost. No book anymore on the control board. While driving along the Addo Elephant Park, we saw many animals from the road. Good appetizer for the coming day. The backpackers we found was all luxury: wifi, organic restaurant (serving a great spicy houmouss with homemade bread as a starter), huge swedish kitchen, confortable showers and tents with beds. The manager, a french woman named Claude, offered the bed for the night to Lina so that she does not have to travel by night to Port Elisabeth. Her husband makes delicious homemade guava jam.
